PERTH, Dec 12 AAP - A monument to West Australian Bali bombing victims will be erectedin Perth's picturesque war memorial park before the first anniversary of the tragedy.

The memorial in Kings Park will be in place by October 12 next year, when a tributewill be held to honour the 15 from WA who died, Premier Geoff Gallop said today.

"While the memory of those who were killed will linger long in our thoughts, it isonly appropriate we recognise their passing with a lasting tribute," Dr Gallop said.

The Bali death toll is now more than 180 people, 87 of whom were Australian.

The last Australian victim will be flown home to WA from Bali on Saturday, after DNAtests this week identified the body of Nicole Harrison, 29, of Mandurah, south of Perth.

Simone Hanley, 28, from the southern Sydney suburb of Cronulla, died in Royal PerthHospital (RPH) on Monday night after surgery to amputate her leg, a last-ditch effortto combat an infection.

Dr Gallop announced the memorial plans today, two months after the blasts, at a ceremonyto honour locals involved in the massive emergency operation which followed the bombings.

Royal Perth Hospital's burns unit was one of 13 organisations and 400 individuals whoreceived special recognition from the premier for commitment above and beyond the callof duty.

Dr Gallop will establish a steering committee to consult with victims' families andthe broader community about the design and placement of the proposed monument.
